Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Commitment to Sustainability and Community

As part of IDEX Corporation, FTL is proud to lead the way in strengthening our Environmental, Social, and Governance commitments. We are continually working to improve how we operate, reduce our impact on the environment, and support the community at the heart of our organisation.

Our sustainability efforts span several areas. We’ve invested in solar panels on our building to generate clean energy and added electric vehicle charging pods to our car park to encourage low‑emission commuting. We are also committed to working collaboratively with our customers to better understand their sustainability goals, whether that involves reducing logistics impact, improving packaging efficiency, or identifying more environmentally responsible ways of working together.

Supporting our community is equally important. We are proud to work closely with Paperworks Charity, not only through regular donations that aid their growth and development, but also by providing hands-on operational support across finance, marketing, and day‑to‑day activities. Our partnership goes far beyond financial contributions; every FTL employee is given a paid day each year to volunteer with a charity of their choice, helping us stay genuinely connected to the communities we serve.

Working Together to Support Our Customers Sustainability Goals

We’re committed to working closely with our customers to better understand and support their sustainability ambitions. Whether it’s reducing logistics‑related emissions, optimising packaging, or exploring more efficient ways to deliver products, we’re always open to collaborative conversations that drive meaningful improvements. By sharing insights, identifying opportunities, and aligning on practical solutions, we aim to reduce our collective environmental impact and help our customers move towards their own sustainability targets with confidence.

Investing in Sustainability with Solar Panels

We’ve installed solar panels on our building to further reduce our environmental footprint and support cleaner energy use across our operations.

By generating a portion of our own electricity from a renewable source, we’re lowering carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and contributing to a more sustainable workplace. This investment reflects our commitment to responsible growth and to making everyday improvements that support a greener future.

Workplace Charging Pods

We’ve introduced new EV charging pods in our work car park to help make sustainable transport more accessible for our team. By providing convenient on-site charging, we’re encouraging the shift to lower‑emission travel and reducing our overall environmental impact. These pods make it easier for employees to transition to electric vehicles, support day‑to‑day commuting needs, and reflect our commitment to building a more responsible, future‑focused workplace.

Charities

Paperworks’ aim is to allow people with learning disabilities a chance of gaining the skills to work in any vocational area.

They give people the opportunity to maximise their potential and demonstrate their independence and are continually developing their business to sustain the environment for this to happen.

Paperworks currently employs 9 staff across 2 sites and operates an outreach programme into more rural areas.
